HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

Welcome to MAKTASTIC. Our Health and Safety Policy ensures a safe and secure environment for all participants in our after-school clubs and children’s parties. At MAKTASTIC (referred to as "we", "us", or "our"), we are dedicated to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all participants in our after-school clubs, party bookings, and other services (collectively referred to as the "Services"). This Health and Safety Policy outlines our commitment to the well-being of children, staff, and visitors. By utilising our services, you agree to adhere to and support the following health and safety standards. For the purposes of this policy, "you" and "your" refer to parents, guardians, or other individuals responsible for a child, as well as the children participating in our programs.

2. Responsibilities

• 2.1 Staff: Our staff are trained in health and safety procedures and are responsible for maintaining a safe environment. They will conduct risk assessments, follow emergency protocols, and ensure that safety equipment is used correctly.
• 2.2 Parents/Guardians: It is the responsibility of parents or guardians to inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs their child may have. Parents/guardians must ensure that their child is in good health and complies with our safety guidelines.

3. Health and Medical Information

• 3.1 Medical Forms: Parents/guardians must complete and submit medical information forms for their children before participation in our programs or events. This includes details on allergies, medical conditions, and emergency contact information.
• 3.2 Emergency Situations: In the event of an illness or injury, our staff will administer first aid and contact emergency services if needed. Parents/guardians will be notified immediately.

4. Safety Procedures

• 4.1 Risk Assessments: Regular risk assessments are conducted for all activities and facilities to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• 4.2 Safe Equipment Use: All equipment and facilities are regularly inspected and maintained to ensure they meet safety standards. Participants must use equipment as instructed.
• 4.3 Supervision: Children will be supervised at all times by qualified staff. We maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios to ensure safety during all activities.

5. Emergency Protocols

• 5.1 Emergency Contacts: Emergency contact numbers are displayed prominently. Staff are trained in emergency procedures, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first aid.
• 5.2 Accident Reporting: All accidents and incidents are documented and reviewed to prevent future occurrences. Parents/guardians will be informed of any significant incidents involving their child.

6. Illness and Hygiene

• 6.1 Illness Policy: Children who are unwell or exhibiting symptoms of contagious illnesses should not attend our programs or events. We reserve the right to exclude a child from participation if they are deemed unfit to attend.
• 6.2 Hygiene Practices: We promote good hygiene practices, including regular handwashing and the use of sanitisers. Our facilities are cleaned and disinfected regularly.

7. Safety Rules and Expectations

• 7.1 Behaviour: Participants are expected to follow safety rules and instructions provided by staff. Unsafe or disruptive behaviour will be addressed, and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure the safety of all involved.
• 7.2 Personal Items: Participants should bring only necessary personal items. We are not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings.

8. Policy Review

• 8.1 This Health and Safety Policy is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains effective and up to date. Changes will be communicated to all relevant parties.
